About Us

New Alternatives for Children (NAC) enables hospitalized disabled and/or chronically ill children to go home. These children have remained in hospitals for months - even years - because their families are unable to meet the extraordianary demands of in-home care.

We serve a population of severly disabled children and or chronically ill hospitalized children, and their siblings, from infancy to eighteen years of age living in the five boroughs of New York City whose socio-environmental circumstances, combined with their medical problems, prevent speedy medical discharge. NAC's population is extremely diverse and is multi-racial and multi-cultural.
