  • About Us

To create and produce live theatre of the highest quality, made accessible to the broadest audience of children and families in metropolitan New York and across America, and to cultivate up-and-coming theatre writers. Annual activities include bringing live theatre to as large and varied an audience as possible, including the disadvantaged and communities with limited access to such cultural enrichment. The repertoire now includes 133 works, contributing to the field of theatre, and to the uniquely American art form of musical theatre. As an incubator of new work, Theatreworks continues to commission writers and designers to develop and mount several new productions annually.
