Saint Joseph's University

The SJU Faith-Justice Institute works to integrate service into the student's learning--hence, service-learning. This includes, but is not limited to, pairing weekly service in the Philadelphia community to a variety of courses, facilitating academic immersion experiences, and a program that partners with one particular site, Covenant House Pennsylvania. This group is specifically tuned to the program that partners with Covenant House, the DEEP Relations Program. This program is supervised by and Americorps*VISTA Volunteer who works with seven students entitled Site Assistants. This program involves showing the youth the larger world, specifically, higher education.
