    The mission of the Kalamazoo Humane Society is to foster an environment of respect, responsibility, and compassion for all animals through education, pet population control and leadership.

    About Us

    Founded in 1897, the the Kalamazoo Humane Society is the oldest animal welfare organization in Southwest Michigan. KHS is a leader in animal cruelty prevention, humane education, pet population control and animal care services. our goal is to eliminate the "homeless"pet population. KHS operates a low-cost spay / neuter clinic. The goal of this clinic is to make spay / neuter services convenient and affordable. KHS partners with Kalamazoo County Animal Services & Enforcement to address the needs of stray and homeless anim als, to eliminate animal suffering and to provide pet adoption counseling to citizens interested in adopting a companion animal.
