First Churches of Northampton

We are a congregation in the vibrant downtown area of Northampton, Massachusetts, made up of the combined congregations of the First Church of Christ (UCC) and the First Baptist Church (ABC). All are welcome; we are an open and affirming congregation. First Churches attracts a diverse congregation where all people are welcomed.

OUR STATEMENT OF WELCOME

We invite into our fellowship and membership all persons who love God and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, without regard to such differences as race, ethnicity, age, gender, ability, sexual orientation, economic status, marital status, level of education, or any other difference that may be misunderstood as a barrier to Christian fellowship. We further welcome all who seek God, and we express our sincerest hope that in fellowship with the community of faith they may find the answers they seek.

ENVIRONMENTAL COVENANT

We are an Environmentally Covenanted Church and promise to lift up and care for God’s earth through what we do in worship, education, individual and congregational lifestyle choices and in our church’s community, national and global involvement.
