  • Mission

To eliminate domestic violence one family at a time.

    About Us

Bethany House of Northern Virginia, Inc. is a non-profit, faith-based organization serving women and children who have been victims of domestic violence and are homeless and destitute as a result.

We provide the support and care women and children recovering from domestic violence need through our Family Assistance Program (FAP). The FAP consists of four service areas:

    1) CRISIS INTERVENTION

Anyone who calls our helpline receives immediate help, counsel, and advice. If shelter availability exists, an intake interview is set and client defines short-term and long-term goals with outcomes and a timetable for success.

    2) COMMUNITYOUTREACH

Interaction with public safety officials, community leaders, social and human service providers, religious leaders, and individuals who enhance our crisis intervention by referring domestic abuse survivors to our services.

    3) EMERGENCY SHELTER

Provide emergency shelter for four to six months along with case management, Self-Sufficiency Training and Resiliency Skills Program, and group and individual counseling.

    4) AFTERCARE PROGRAM

Follow-up is done for two years to ensure clients keep their freedom and do not relapse into abuse.
