WELLESLEY NEIGHBORS INC

  • Mission

    Our mission is to create a caring and connected community of seniors by offering social, cultural, and educational activities, providing health information, service referrals, and delivering mutual support and assistance. Wellesley Neighbors is a community of active and engaged older adults: living well and aging well.

    About Us

    In 2008, inspired by Beacon Hill Village, a group of Wellesley friends envisioned a "village" of older adults living actively in their own homes and engaging in the community. Their goals were to:

    1. Offer diverse social, educational, and physical activities for connection and friendship;
    2. Enable members to help one another with rides, medical support, and errands; and
    3. Share trusted referrals for service providers.

    Since launching in 2011, Wellesley Neighbors has become a community of up to 150 older adults from Wellesley, Natick, Needham, Wayland, Dover and other nearby towns. Together, members share meals, explore new subjects, visit cultural sites, and provide over 1,000 volunteer supports, from rides and meals to tech help. Volunteers are essential in delivering programs, events, and services that empower our members to age well, live independently, and stay active. Join us to make a meaningful impact in our community!
