Speak Up for Kids exists to mitigate trauma and cultivate self-worth for children living in foster care. We engage volunteers, student leaders, and community partners to meet everyday needs, build life skills, and create meaningful connections. Through advocacy and hands-on service, we work to ensure every child feels seen, supported, and valued.
Speak Up for Kids serves children and teens living in foster care, as well as the caregivers and systems that support them. Many of the youth we serve are navigating instability, loss, and unmet basic needs, which is why our work focuses on both practical support and building a strong sense of self-worth.
Our programs are designed to meet kids where they are at that moment. Whether we are providing essential items, celebrating important milestones, or equipping teens aging out of care with life skills for independence, we step in and assist. We also invest in supporting foster parents and engaging the community through student-led advocacy and volunteer opportunities.
Our values center on dignity, consistency, and connection. We believe every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and valued, and that meaningful change happens when a community shows up with both compassion and action. Through partnerships with volunteers, students, and local organizations, we work to create a network of support that helps children not just get by, but move forward with confidence.
