  • Mission

Striving to preserve the pristine Amazon Rainforests of Southeast Peru by providing environmental education opportunities and hands-on experience in conservation to passionate individuals across the globe.

    About Us

Having acquired nearly 60 hectares of previously degraded rainforest, Panthera Sanctuary Conservation Reserve through its activities and tremendous help from volunteers has not only reforested and restored native floral/faunal populations, it has also found a way to sustainably develop its main camp center through organic fruit/vegetable/herb production used in our kitchen, fresh drinking water through rainwater collection, lighting and other electrical needs generated through solar power energy, and the construction of buildings through the use of recycled wood materials.

Activities volunteers participate in include, but are not limited to:

    • the monitoring of various animal populations (caimans, frogs, birds, mammals, snakes, etc)
    • agroforestry/sustainable agriculture projects
    • sustainable construction and wood harvesting methods
    • basic forest orientation courses
    • conducting reserve patrols & marking GPS coordinates to enter in satellite imaging software
    • helping to put together management plans for threatened species
    • Optional: learning how to safely handle captive or wild animals such as frogs, snakes, birds, etc
