Phoenix Gallery New York City
The Phoenix Gallery was established in 1958 as the first artist run gallery in New York City. Comprised of approximately 30 artists, primarily from the New York area, its membership extends across the country and internationally. As a community of visual artists our goal is to be in dialogue with each other, to support each other’s work and further our development as artists. A not-profit organization, the Phoenix Gallery sponsors juried competitions, fellowship programs, regular exhibitions of the work of gallery members and a broad range of interdisciplinary cultural events. Members are required to attend meetings, serve on committee and work with the gallery director to further the goals of the Phoenix Gallery.
