About Us
Since 2004, Amachi Knoxville has worked to bring mentors to children in Knox County who have at least one parent incarcerated in state or federal prison. Research has shown that children with mentors do better in school, get along better with their families, and are less like to abuse alcohol or drugs. A mentor shows the child by example that there is a better way. Mentors teach these children life skills that can literally save their lives.
