About Us

The Institute for State Effectiveness (ISE), a Think (and Do) Tank that provides proven tools to help governments deliver services to citizens through more accountable and effective governance, is looking for a Research Analyst to join our team. All assignments given to the Research Analyst will add value both to ISE and to the Analyst’s development as a professional in the field. This is a great opportunity for anyone entering a career in international relations, governance, or international development fields to gain first-hand experience with various aspects of research and analysis in a global organization.

Founded in 2006, ISE works globally to advance and refine ideas to close the sovereignty gap – the gap between what citizens expect and the ability or willingness of their government to deliver. We conduct analysis in-country and work with leaders and citizens to make governance more effective and accountable. Deeply aware of political factors, we seek to empower reform-minded political and technical actors to set agendas. ISE places the country’s own national priorities at the center of our work to ensure that citizens are at the forefront of decision-making. Where requested, we place small advisory teams in country to support leaders to implement their visions.
