  • Mission

The Middle Georgia Community Food Bank (MGCFB) mission is to provide the maximum amount of food possible to our participating food pantries at the lowest possible cost in order to reach the maximum number of hungry neighbors in need. MGCFB strives to reduce food insecurity, hunger, and the associated negative health impacts by serving as an umbrella agency to the over 180 agencies who obtain food from us for their programs. These agencies in turn provide food at soup kitchens, after-school programs, shelters, senior programs, and other social service programs throughout our service area.

    About Us

We are the leading voice of hunger for the vulnerable facing food insecurity and a community-based leader in fighting food scarcity in 24 counties. Our trusted programs are created to give hope to the hopeless when faced with starvation. Our organization saves thousands of pounds of food every year that would otherwise be wasted or thrown away. We are dedicated to helping urban and rural communities throughout Central Georgia and serving their most vulnerable residents no matter their demographics or socioeconomic background. We work in a region facing one of the greatest areas of food insecurity in the Nation, and we are creating advocacy and policy that can actively combat this issue.
