About Us

West End Neighborhood House is a unique, highly effective non-profit organization providing a continuum of care approach to meet our clients’ comprehensive needs. Our mission is to help individuals achieve self-sufficiency, reach and maintain their maximum potential, and live responsibly and harmoniously in a healthy community and complex world. We provide assistance through outcomes-driven programming and utilizing innovative solutions to resolve complex social challenges throughout Delaware. 


The Education and Employment Department provides comprehensive academic and employability services for adults and youth ages 16 and older. EED targets the most at-risk Delawareans who lack a high school education, are unemployed with limited to no employment history and are often involved in the criminal justice system by providing them with:


 Tutorial Sessions

 GED® Preparedness classes

 Basic Skills Instruction

 Job Readiness and Placement

 Customer Service Certification Training

 Life Skills (including civic duties and community activism)


These services are designed to help students build the critical thinking skills necessary to increase literacy, enhance employability, and gain and retain employment.
