    FRIENDS of the DANBURY LIBRARY is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that works to enhance the educational and informational needs of the residents of the Danbury area through the continued support of the Danbury Library. FRIENDS are particularly dedicated to assisting the library as it works to meet the informational needs of the community, helping to invest in the library projects and goals, supporting the innovative efforts of the staff to enhance the lives of the community, focusing specifically on the resources and services the library offers, and promoting active memberships to aid in the constant growth of the organization.

    About Us

    The FRIENDS of the DANBURY LIBRARY is looking for additional Board of Trustees and volunteers. This group is a community of board members and volunteers who meet once a month, 10 months of the year. The Board of Trustees and volunteers are responsible for making sure the organization upholds its mission, protects its resources, and functions in the public interest.

    The Board Meetings are held at 5pm on the third Monday of each month, except when they are rescheduled due to holidays or school vacations. The By-Laws require that Board Members and volunteers must be a current member in good standing with the Friends of the Danbury Library. They are expected to be familiar with and uphold the FRIENDS By-Laws, policies, and guidelines while performing in accordance with them. The trustees and volunteers are also expected to work on a committee and/or as an officer and is expected to volunteer at the annual book sale and collection events.
