Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council
The Pacific Forest and Watershed Lands Stewardship Council (Stewardship Council) is a private foundation charged with land stewardship, youth wilderness education, and urban park development in northern and central California. Specifically, the Stewardship Council is responsible for developing and implementing a Land Conservation Plan for the protection of 140,000 acres of land located in the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain watersheds and on the Carizzo Plains. Additionally, the Stewardship Council administers an Urban Youth Investment Program to benefit underserved youth and communities throughout northern and central California. The Stewardship Council has committed funds of $100 million dollars to implement these programs.
