Office of Recycling Outreach and Education

Our mission is to help New Yorkers increase the amount of recyclables diverted from the waste stream by providing education and resources for recycling, waste prevention, materials reuse and composting. We work intensively on a community board-by- community board basis in all five boroughs, offering free building waste audits and trainings for tenants, landlords and supers. We are also working to provide special waste collections such as textiles, electronics and compost in our targeted areas, as well as central locations citywide.
