About Us

Literacy Volunteers of Morris County helps adults in our community improve their ability to speak, read, write and understand English. Students are matched with a trained volunteer tutor who helps them improve these important skills so that they are able to find and retain a job, manage their health care, financial and consumer needs independently, and ensure their children succeed in school. We believe that the ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English is essential for personal freedom and the sustainability of a democratic society.  Our mission is to provide free instruction to Morris County adults in literacy, English fluency and American culture.

Our vision is to ensure no one in Morris County finds their opportunities in life limited because of their inability to read, write or speak English fluently.
