The South Dakota State University (SDSU) Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Foundation’s efforts directly benefit the University by gathering support from many passionate private donors. It is the University’s largest private funding resource and directly impacts initiatives that grow and improve SDSU. This support allows SDSU to impact greatness on campus when an opportunity arises and keep education affordable.

The SDSU Foundation started in 1946 with just one employee. Now, our organization comprises a 16-member Board of Governors and 100+ member Council of Trustees who manage over $190 million in assets. SDSU created the Foundation to help the university—and our mutual interest in making SDSU the best it can be is unwavering.

When a gift is made to the Foundation, the donor knows it’s going to make a difference no matter the size. That’s because we’re a financially secure non-profit with proven success.

We have an experienced team that takes pride in responsible gift management—ensuring every dollar possible goes toward helping SDSU. Our relationships with our donors are long-lasting, and we like to keep our supporters informed.
