Salvation Army Child Care Program

About Us

Learning is the key to unlocking the possibilities inherent in every young life. But on the streets of too many neighborhoods, a child’s inherent love of learning is too often obscured by realities such as hunger and violence.

Providing services that help nurture the love of learning are among the highest priorities of The Salvation Army. Through our Corps Community Centers and other facilities, we provide a positive, stimulating environment in which to learn and a wide range of educational opportunities for children of all ages.

The Salvation Army is a leading provider of Head Start programs designed to give pre-schoolers a strong foundation for learning, and is one of Chicago's largest providers of music instruction for children. We also offer high-quality day care, after-school activities, summer camps, character development classes, leadership training, tutoring, computer training and more.

Our programs for children continue to be highly effective - strengthening bodies, providing safe havens from the streets and offering the educational and program support to help secure a brighter future.
