About Us

The Grand Haven Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is a nonprofit organization established in 1986 under Public Act 59. This legislation allows us to collect 2% assessments from lodging properties/transient facilities within our district. We are the destination marketing organization for the Grand Haven, Michigan area.

We provide approximately 650 rooms/units throughout our district, which includes cities, villages, and townships. Our district is primary recongized as Northwest Ottawa County, including:

Mission Statement It is our mission to promote, market, and publicize Northwest Ottawa County for overnight stays for visitors, meetings, and tourism related activities as a tool to foster economic development in the area.

Vision Statement Our vision is to lead the process that stimulates further growth of the Northwest Ottawa County as a destination location. It is our vision that the qualities of this charming resort town, beautiful lakefront and family oriented community be recognized throughout the world. We will accomplish this vision by being known for quality events, warm hospitality and interesting attractions/activities that draw people to the area. We support the tourism industry and will continue to work towards creating a year-round destination, which is served by an excellent membership of bed & breakfasts, small motels, large hotel facilities, summer vacation homes and cabins.
