    READ 718 is a non-profit organization based in Brooklyn, NY providing individualized reading instruction and mentorship to low-income students in grades 4-8 who are reading below grade level. We believe that strong literacy skills are essential for school success and lifelong learning, and that direct literacy instruction is often necessary to support students' literacy development beyond the early grades. READ 718 aims to help all children achieve school success and to develop a love of reading by offering one-to-one literacy instruction after school by a committed and trained volunteer in a safe, supportive environment.
