  • Mission

To eliminate racial discrimination and hatred against Chinese Americans.

The Chinese American Legal Defense Alliance (CALDA) is the United States’ first and only non-profit organization dedicated to providing free and direct legal representation to all Chinese Americans who have suffered racial discrimination and hatred. Our mission is to seek justice and racial equality through litigation and other legal actions. We will defend Chinese American victims of racial discrimination in a court of law against all offenders, be it an individual, a company, or the government.

CALDA is firmly committed to combating and eradicating all forms of prejudice, discrimination, and hostility directed towards individuals of Chinese descent living in the United States. We call for a unified effort to create an inclusive and respectful society where Chinese Americans can live free from fear and injustice.

    About Us

    Litigation support

CALDA maintains a dedicated website, a WeChat public account, a Facebook account, and other social media platforms to collect cases of discrimination against Chinese Americans. Our organization verifies relevant information and evaluates the impact of each case through our in-house legal team. If a case is validated and approved by our board, CALDA will engage external legal agencies specializing in related cases or lawsuits to handle the matter.

As CALDA grows, we plan to hire staff attorneys who can directly represent cases on behalf of the organization. We also strive to establish long-term collaborative relationships with law firms across the United States and secure low-bono or pro-bono legal assistance.

    Capacity Building

CALDA conducts case studies and capacity-building initiatives in anti-racial discrimination, the China Initiative, and other related fields. We organize training sessions for internal and external lawyers involved in cases to enhance their abilities and skills in addressing hate crimes and racial discrimination.

We also offer various anti-discrimination legal lectures through YouTube, Facebook, WeChat, and other channels to increase legal awareness within the Chinese American community.

    Partnerships

We collaborate with organizations such as AAJC, NAPABA, C100, CASF, and UCA to defend the equal rights of Chinese Americans and other minorities through litigation, public relations, and advocacy.

    Education and Scholarships

As resources permit, CALDA will provide scholarships and career opportunities to Chinese American and other Asian law students, encouraging more young lawyers to work in civil rights and anti-discrimination fields.

    Database

CALDA plans to create a database of blacklisted individuals, companies, and other entities that discriminate against or target Chinese Americans.

    Supporting Minorities

Our organization assists other minorities facing discrimination and works with them toward the ultimate goal of racial equality.
