Mission
Greenbelt Conservancy, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1989, works in partnership with the City of New York Parks & Recreation. The Conservancy is dedicated to promoting conservation and preservation of natural areas on Staten Island, and increasing public awareness, support and enjoyment of the Greenbelt, which consists of 2,800 acres of forests, meadows, streams, ponds, parks and recreational areas. The Conservancy is responsible for the prudent management of its endowment to benefit the Greenbelt
