LIVING EARTH SCHOOL

  • Mission

The Living Earth School is dedicated to renewing our connections with the earth, caring for the earth and building healthy relationships with nature, self and community.

    About Us

Living Earth School is best known for our fun, nature-based education summer camps for youth that go beyond a typical summer camp experience, but our programming spans ages 6- adult. We cultivate a culture that builds community and fosters nature connection to a living earth, teaching people about themselves, others, and the natural world through direct experiences. Our amazing instructors teach skills that relate directly to life - shelter, fire, water, food, awareness of our surroundings - we remind and show people what is real. We teach kids and adults to love nature by giving them time and experience in nature, without digital diversions or extraneous activities. Everything we do is geared to deepen our connection with each other and with the natural world around us.

LES seeks to increase diversity amongst its participants, acquire and build a permanent physical home for our programming, and expand and develop programming for participants of all ages and backgrounds.

Living Earth School (LES) was founded in 2002. In 2021, Hub and Kate Knott transitioned their successful, 20-year, for-profit business into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit so the school could build a sustainable, long-term future.
