Historic Maritime Foundation

HMF is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rich history of tugboats and workboats in the Puget Sound. Our mission is to educate and inspire future generations of mariners through engaging programs and hands-on experiences, as well as ensuring these wonderful boats are preserved and restored to working condition. Join us as we celebrate the maritime heritage of our region and foster a love for the sea. Together, we can ensure that this vital part of our history is cherished and passed on.

We aim to preserve pieces of maritime history and utilize them to train at risk youth in maritime skills to offer them a better future with a career in the industry. We believe that even though a boat is 100 years old, it still has something to offer. and just because a young adult is of little means or comes from nothing, they still have something to offer.
