We’re different from any other place you have been before—our mission is to foster the spiritual, mental and physical development of individuals, families and communities according to the ideals of inclusiveness, equality and mutual respect for all. We are here to build strong kids, strong families, strong communities.
Building Bridges
With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility—strengthening communities is our cause. At the Y, we believe that lasting personal and social change happens when we all work together. Every day we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.
In 2012, YMCA Fairfax County Reston provided over $400,000 in financial support through the YMCA's Building Bridges Program, in the form of scholarships to our neighbors in need—children, adults and families. Our annual Building Bridges campaign raises funds to ensure the long standing tradition of turning no one away due to their inability to pay.
