    OUR MISSION "To fight for equal rights and justice for all!" The mission of the Black Heritage Society is to perpetuate the dream aspiration and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by fighting for equal rights for all people. Therefore, we invite the entire community to join us in the MLK Original Parade celebration and activities each year. With a long history of fighting for equal justice and social accommodations for the rights of all people, Black Heritage Society subscribes to Activism, Advocacy, and Action on behalf of the underprivileged, underserved, disenfranchised, and marginalized populations.

    In 1978 the conception of the "Original MLK Jr. Day Parade promoted Dr. MLK's values. Advocacy, Action, and activism are tools we use to create change.
