    Mission: The Thea Bowman Center is a non-profit organization that provides services to the community of the Mt. Pleasant area in Cleveland, OH. The Thea Bowman Center is dedicated to supporting the spirit and enhancing the quality of life in the community through resource services, food support, adult education and youth programs.

    Volunteering opportunities:

    Food Pantry: Be a member of the Food Pantry team providing fresh groceries to the community on Saturdays.

    Hot Lunch Buffet: Join the volunteers serving a nutritious hot meal to the community on Saturdays.

    Adult Literacy & GED Program: Be a tutor for the adult literacy program and assist students to achieve their GED. If you have an education background as a teacher or higher education, and have a specialty in English, math, science or social studies, please join our program.

    Adult Computer Training: Assist training adults in computer skills for today's computer literacy.

    Youth Program & Activities: Assist children K to 8th grade in an afterschool program involving tutoring, homework assistance, art & crafts, and sports activities.

    Resource Services: Assist the coordinator for the Ohio Benefits for residence of the community. Assist in bringing information to residence about local services for health care, child care, utility assistance, and more.
