The Irish Cultural Center began in 1999 with our An Gorta Mor (A Great Hunger) memorial and have since become a more than 5,000 square foot facility, complete with our 12th century Norman replica castle built in 2012! The Center is in the process of building a cafe and retail space, and has a constant stream of events relating to Irish and Celtic culture. In 2019, the Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library was host to the International Famine Commemoration and continues to be a symbol of Irish heritage in the South West.
