About Us

ACTWID CAMEROON OVERVIEW

ACTWID began operations in Cameroon in 1989 and officially legalized in 1995 with 40 volunteers sensitizing and empowering poorly marginalized rural women in the grass fields of Cameroon. More than a decade later, ACTWID Cameroon has diversified into a wide range of activities including: Education, health, sustainable agriculture, Small enterprise development, Youth development, Climate change and environmental issues. ACTWID has grown to an organization with 59 registered groups in Cameroon.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  • To build capacities of the targeted communities in the identification, production, financing and marketing of potential agricultural and non-agricultural products, including micro-enterprises.
  • To promote business-oriented community-based organizations, undertaking collective production and marketing techniques for long-term sustainability.
  • To raise awareness and knowledge of farmers on environmentally sustainable agricultural technologies and practices.

OUR MISSION

Reduce poverty through the design, management, and implementation of innovative projects that reinforce low-income families’ ability to generate and maintain their human, productive, and financial assets.

VISION

A society based on legitimate rights, equity, justice, honesty, social sensitivity and a culture of service in which all are self-reliant.
