About Us
Since 1970, the Coastal States Organization (CSO) has represented the Governors of the U.S. coastal states, territories, and commonwealths as an advocate for improved management of the nation's coasts, oceans, and Great Lakes. CSO is headquarted in Washington, DC and maintains a core staff of four professionals - Executive Director, Legislative Representative, Policy Analyst and Operations Coordinator. CSO also works closely with NOAA, the National Estuarine Research Reserve Association and the Association of National Estuary Programs.
