Dysart Community Center

  • Mission

To provide educational and developmental opportunities for low-income children and adults in our local communities.

    About Us

Dysart Community Center is a non-profit organization, separate from the Dysart School District, that was established in 1962 by a group of twelve determined volunteers to provide basic health and educational resources for local families struggling on the verge of poverty. Education was the first priority for these volunteers. They introduced literacy training for adult learners eager to improve their lives and build sustained economic self-sufficiency through English language instruction. From its founding nearly fifty years ago, Dysart Community Center has expanded its services to provide a variety of educational programs for thousands of West Valley residents.

The mission of this 501c3 organization is to provide educational and developmental opportunities for low-income children and adults in our local communities. Today the Center is, to the best of our knowledge, the only place in the entire West Valley for 1-on-1 ESL (English as a Second Language) and GED (General Educational Development) programming at a very low cost. The Center also offers after school and summer programs for youth, ages 5-14, at a very modest $5 fee per month. The Center caters to low-income families and is either free or has minimal cost to the participants.
