Organisation Profile:

The West Africa Youth Network for Peace Education and Economic Development –with the acronym WAYNPEED is a Not for Profit making Nongovernmental, Civil society organisation, legally and legitimately registered in Sierra Leone. As an organisation we are collaborating with over One hundred and fifty (150) CSOs network organisation across Sierra Leone. We are affiliated with the Ecowas Youth Council, Africa Youth Council, Africa Institute for Economic Governance Policy West Africa Civil Society Institute.

Vision

“A Sub Region characterized by just and peaceful communities where the dignity of the Youth Women and Girls is Sustainable and where the Economic and Social Security Needs can be Achieve and decide their own direction.”

Mission

“To facilitate the Economic cooperation and development of organisation in Sierra Leone and the Sub region, by promoting Economic cooperative responses providing the structure, through which these Economic and Social institutions with regularly exchange experience and information on development, conflict prevention and transformation, social, religious and political reconciliation.

Organisational Key Strategic Direction and Thematic Areas 

·        The Universal Declaration on Rights of Persons through Gender equality and zero tolerance to discrimination against (sex, tribe/ethnicity, race, Health Disabilities etc.)

·        Promote Peace Security and Regional Integration Peace Building and Early Warning

·        Support Disaster Risk Management and Early Warning Responses Network

·        Support Transparency and Accountability, With the fight Against Corruption , Promote the Rule of Law, Justice for all, Good Governance and Democracy

·        Collaborate and consult with CSO’s Locally and Internationally by Promoting Sustainable Development and Strengthen Public Financial Management through Economic Development Support (PFED)

·         Support the Effort Combat Illegal Migration and Human Smuggling(Child, Women and Youth)

·        Promote Entrepreneurship Platform, Financial Inclusions through Rural Communities.

·        Promote Women’s Economic Network (WEN) and Campaign against Sexual and Gender Based Violence (Women and Girls)

·        Support Primary Health Education, and Promote Universal Access to Free Quality Education.

·        Strengthen WAYNPEED-SL programmes through research, documentation,Monitoring and Evaluation
