Father McKenna Center
The Father McKenna Center has provided services to the poor and homeless since 1983.
We were part of Saint Aloysius Church for 29 years. The parish closed in 2012 and we became an indepedent nonprofit. We meet needs and reclaim lives. We have a drop-in center for homeless men M-F and on some Saturdays and holidays. Men can take showers, eat, have their clothes washed and be referred for drug, mental health treatment. We also operate a food pantry for very low income residents of Ward 6. We assist residents of Ward 6 with rent and utility payments. From November 1 - April 1, 20 homeless men sleep in our hypothermia prevention program.
