About Us
The Alexandria Childhood Obesity Action Network is working to address the growing obesity epidemic among children, ages 2-5, through policy and community change. We recognize that if families do not feel safe going to a neighborhood playground, cannot buy fresh fruits and vegetables at a nearby grocery store, or sufficiently obtain them through food assistance programs then it will be difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Our mission is to make the healthy choice, the easy choice.
