The Troy Nature Society
The Troy Nature Society (TNS) is a non-profit organization supporting the educational programs and activities of the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center. The nature center is part of a popular 100-acre nature preserve with trails, forests, marsh and meadows, and includes a Troy city-managed farm of 30 acres. Our organization is dedicated to educating our community about the natural world and the importance of stewardship of natural resources like the wilderness outside the nature center's doors. It is the mission of TNS to provide resources and education to inspire the appreciation and preservation of nature.
The Troy Nature Society has an active corps of 200 volunteers who give their time and talents in support of our educational programs. We are currently in need of volunteers to assist with our monthly Junior Naturalist Club, and to serve as Front Desk Representatives. From time to time, we also need volunteers to help with annual events, such as our Ice Cream Social in August or the Maple Syruping program in March.
