    About Us

What do Food Bank volunteers do?

Some Food Bank volunteers give their time to help in the packaging and distribution process by sorting, relabeling or repackaging food. Other volunteers contribute by taking part in food drives and yet others volunteer their time and expertise by serving as volunteer officers and board members.

    Food Bank Volunteer Requirements

The Food Bank welcomes volunteers 12 years and older (although volunteers 12-15 years of age require adult supervision or a chaperone) to help support our mission to reduce hunger. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for groups and individuals that include stocking shelves, sorting donated food, preparing mailings, helping with special events, and much more. We’ll do our best to match your interests and skills with tasks that need to be accomplished.

    Food Bank Volunteer Process

Before beginning your volunteer time at the Food Bank our volunteer coordinator will provide you with a brief orientation. Please wear close-toed shoes and dress appropriately for the weather, as our warehouse temperature fluctuates with the current weather conditions. If questions arise during your volunteering session, our staff will be available to assist you.
