About Us

The Arts Center serves as the art and cultural hub for our community. We are the venue, logistical & financial support that brings fine art exhibitions, cultural festivals, readings & humanities presentations, community theater productions, art classes & workshops, resident artists and various performing artists to the area. Our programs reach every age group, sector and social group in our community.

Located in the heart of downtown, the main building features an exhibition gallery, performance stage, classroom, office, artist-in-residence apartment and studio. The Art Park, a beautiful garden and green space, was added in 2000. The Hansen Arts Studio, our adjacent building, houses the ceramics studio and adult classroom space. JFAA also operates the Ila & J.A. Kirkpatrick Gallery at the Frontier Village in Jamestown. The gallery is open each summer and is operated by the Artisans, a volunteer artist group. These facilities allow us to deliver, indoor, outdoor and offsite multigenerational and multidisciplinary arts experiences throughout the year.

Our arts programming includes placing artists in the elementary schools, holding arts after school classes, conducting year-round art classes for children and adults, developing the only green space downtown, providing a stage for community theatre, participating in Art for Life at the elder care centers, organizing heritage festivals and bringing performing artists of all kinds to town. The Arts Center is operated by the Jamestown Fine Arts Association (JFAA) a [501(c)3 organization], which has been promoting the arts in the Jamestown area since 1964.
