The Montana Justice Foundation (MJF) works to ensure equal access to justice for all Montanans. The MJF takes a strategic approach to closing the justice gap by building the capacity of our pro bono and legal aid system through grants, advocacy and other support and aggressively working to eliminate systemic barriers to equal access to justice. Clients who receive assistance through our grantee organizations are primarily at 125% of the federal poverty rate or lower. The legal services provided focus on clients’ most basic human needs: preserving housing, protecting subsistence income, obtaining access to health care, providing food and clothing for families and maintaining their safety, independence, and dignity.
