Camden Lutheran Housing, Inc.

CLHI is a community development organization working in the North Camden neighborhood in the City of Camden. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the residents in North Camden through new construction and rehabilitation of housing which is offered for sale and lease to low and moderate income individuals and familes and numerous community initiatives such as the "Block Supporter Initiative"; "Decorative Board Up"; "Change the Message" campaign and (new in 2018) "Pop Up Cafe".

Our community initiatives strive to improve the overall quality of life for all residents in North Camden by directly involving residents in taking on the responsibility of keeping the front and back of their homes clean and free of debris and rewarding them with decorative flags, flower boxes and tree trunk solar lights directly in front of their homes. We decoratively paint the windows and doors of vacant, abandoned properties throughout the neighborhood and remove or paint over the graffiti tags. We also have taken over the lease of the 6 neighborhood billboard and now advertise positive community events, celebrations, resources and other positive community oriented information. Organizations, residents and other institutions are able to submit applications and billboard ideas to us for consideration every 4 weeks and there is no charge for the posting.
