    The Natural Heritage Trust (NHT) is a New York State (NYS) public benefit corporation created to manage gifts, grants, and contributions to further public programs and projects in parks, conservation, recreation, historic preservation, and waterfront revitalization. The NHT works in close partnership with private groups and individuals as well as government, particularly New York State. The NHT is tax-exempt and is designated a 501 (c) (3) corporation by the Internal Revenue Service. The NHT receives and administers funds dedicated to a vast array of facilities, sites, projects, events and programs.
