Northwestern Michigan College
Northwestern Michigan College is a publicly funded community college that serves people, organizations and businesses throughout the Grand Traverse region. We serve more than 50,000 learners annually.
NMC offers associate degrees and professional certificates and, through our University Center, 10 partner universities grant baccalaureate, graduate and doctoral degrees. NMC's extensive extended education program offers a vast array of non-credit classes to more than 10,000 local residents annually.
At NMC's central campus you'll find modern learning facilities and residence halls, as well as the Dennos Museum Center and WNMC public radio.
At the Great Lakes Campus on West Grand Traverse Bay you'll find several NMC programs and services: Great Lakes Maritime Academy, Great Lakes Culinary Institute, Great Lakes Water Studies Institute and Hagerty Conference Center.
At the Aero Park Campus you'll find facilities for NMC's Aviation program, as well as programs, training and research opportunities for a wide range of technical fields and trades, including the Michigan Energy Demonstration Center.
NMC's Rogers Observatory offers year-round public viewing opportunities.
Northwestern Michigan College has been nurtured and generously supported by the Grand Traverse region since being established in 1951. Our annual NMC Barbecue is the largest and most successful community picnic staged by a community college.
