School Of Economics

About Us

School Of Economics (SOE) engages students through hands-on, curriculum-based learning programs to promote lifelong financial literacy. SOE currently serves 173 public schools from 48 districts, as well as 50 private schools, homeschool students, and groups like Girl Scouts.

SOE has physical locations in Kansas City and in nearby Blue Springs, Missouri. Teachers bring their 2nd-6th grade classes to practice skills and economic concepts being taught in their classrooms. Our instructors are state-certified teachers, and together with SOE instructional assistants, they have experience working with diverse groups of children.

The programs are fast-paced, real world marketplaces in which students earn incomes, decide about spending or saving, take out bank loans, pay expenses like rent and taxes, run businesses and try to make a profit. Teamwork and good workplace communication are keys to success.

Our not-for-profit organization appreciates volunteer and financial support to ensure that all students can participate, regardless of their schools' resources.
