About Us

Braeside Camp offers a summer experience for boys and girls from Orange County, ages 6 to 12. Now offering 4 two week overnight sessions along with 8 weeks of daycamp for a limited number of slots, depending on your desired enrollment. Braeside has been open and operating since 1899 and continues to offer an authentic sleep away camp experience to the children of Orange County. The camp is located over 15 acres of scenic land in the greater Middletown, NY, area. Camp facilities include sleeping cabins, which house over 80 campers, Corbett dining hall and recreation building, arts and crafts areas, a large inground pool, basketball courts, playgrounds, campsites and wooded hiking trails along a scenic freshwater stream.

During the course of the sessions campers are taught important life skills such as appreciating the value of diversity among people, respect for each other and the world around them and working cooperatively with others. Enrollment is open to the general public for a limited number of resident camper slots and 30 day camper slots each week.

Health and Safety: Braeside Camp promotes health and safety, staff / child ratio is kept low to ensure appropriate supervision and a licensed healthcare professional operates our onsite health center. We also run safety drills to guarantee preparation in any emergency situation.

The safety and well being of each camper is our highest priority, so we take great care in selecting an ideal staff. We hire employees who display excellent character, patience and and enthusiasm for working with children. Certified lifeguards are employed to ensure safety during all water activities.

Upon hiring staff undergo a comprehensive training program that covers safety, directing classes, and team building, amongst other topics. We check applicants against the state registry for child abuse. Braeside Camp is an equal opportunity employer.
