About Us

Community of Hope works to improve the health and quality of life for low-income, homeless, and underserved families and individuals in the District of Columbia by providing healthcare, housing with supportive services, educational opportunities, and spiritual support.

We seek to serve with Compassion, Integrity, & Respect, while Striving for Excellence.

Our wide-ranging programs address the array of challenges faced by homeless and low-income families with children. Our federally-qualified health center meets the primary healthcare needs of the un- and underinsured. Through our housing programs, homeless families find stable homes and case management services to link them with resources such as job referrals, counseling and housing. Our educational programs provide mentors and tutors to work with the children, to help them overcome the instability created by homelessness.

Community of Hope has been helping low income and homeless adults and children for 30 years. Originally founded as a compassionate ministry of the Church of the Nazarene, Community of Hope was incorporated as an independently-run nonprofit organization in 1980.

One of our strengths is visioning and planning strategically for the future. As a result, we have been able to more than double the number of people we serve in the past five years. We make our hopes and dreams become reality. Join us in working to achieve our bold goals to improve even more people's lives.
