    Who we are: “Believers. Leaders. Scholars.”

    L.I.T. Academy is a YMCA after-school academic enrichment program serving 2nd-5th graders at West Seattle Elementary in Seattle’s High Point neighborhood.

    L.I.T. scholars come from diverse religious, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. L.I.T. Academy is dedicated to affirming all scholars’ identities while providing support to overcome challenges related to socioeconomic inequality.

    What we stand for:

    Leaders: Strengthening academic, leadership, and social-emotional skills.

    Inspiring: Exploring new opportunities and discovering potential.

    Together: Building a sense of community and belonging.

    What we do:

    Community building time, Homework support, Literacy tutoring, Enrichment activities (skateboarding, cooking, arts, STEM activities, and more), Brain food (a snack and dinner everyday), Field trips and visitors

    What you can do:

    • Volunteer as a Tutor & Mentor (at least 1 hour weekly)
    • Volunteer as an Enrichment Assistant
    • Present your story as a Leadership Visitor
    • Make a donation
