Firm Foundation Housing and Wellness

Firm Foundation Shelter and Wellness Services is a state-registered community-focused nonprofit organization that provides Emergency shelter and wellness care, referrals to local community outreach agencies, substance abuse services and spiritual support.

Firm Foundation Housing and Wellness is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit established to address the critical need for a low-barrier emergency homeless shelter in Polk County. Our organization was founded by an African American woman with lived experience of homelessness in this community and is guided by a diverse board of local leaders. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming shelter for all individuals, with a focus on addressing the systemic disparities that disproportionately affect people of color. We are currently seeking government and state funding to launch this vital community support.
