Kids In Sports
Kids In Sports’ mission is to provide high quality, affordable sports opportunities for underserved youth while encouraging community and family involvement through the formation and management of sports clubs in Los Angeles County.
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Kids In Sports (KIS) works year-round with parents, school and neighborhood volunteers to build and manage eleven sports clubs which bring quality programs to kids in low-income communities throughout Los Angeles County.
KIS sports clubs provide opportunities for over 8,500 boys and girls each year to learn and have fun playing baseball, basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball. These boys and girls increase their levels of healthy activity and fitness; experience the thrill of being part of a team and gain self-confidence from learning and mastering new sports skills.
KIS provides equipment and uniforms to outfit each kid and certified officials to teach safety and technique. Through KIS sports clubs, parks and playgrounds become more youth-friendly and schools become more a center of community life.
