About Portland State University
Portland State University is Oregon's largest and most diverse university. Serving nearly 29,000 students on our 50-acre urban campus, we serve a distinct student body – from high school valedictorians and first-generation college students to mid-career professionals. Five themes guide PSU's work: providing civic leadership through partnerships; improving student success; achieving global excellence; enhancing educational opportunities; and expanding resources to improve effectiveness. We are charting a course for Portland State University to become one of the nation's leading urban universities, and have been recognized by US News & World Report as a top 10 up-and-coming national university for three consecutive years.
About the Foundation
Established in 1963, the PSU Foundation serves to advance the mission of the university through engagement, advocacy, financial stewardship and philanthropic support. As of July 1, 2014, Portland State University's Advancement division merged with the PSU Foundation to create a single entity for raising and overseeing private gifts. The PSU Foundation advancement team has experienced significant momentum in recent years as fundraising levels have reached record highs. We are building toward a major comprehensive campaign with goals to transform teaching and learning and address growing needs for higher education in the 21st century. With three mini-campaigns well underway – for capital projects and scholarships – our office is engaging donors in new and meaningful ways. It is an exciting time to be a part of our team.
